Creating the Perfect Ambience with Music
International Hospitality Executive · Arts Entrepreneur · Music Educator
More than five decades in music and more than three decades serving luxury hospitality organizations. Since entering the Asian market in Hong Kong in 1992, Greg has partnered with senior hospitality leaders to create distinctive guest environments through thoughtfully conceived, booked, and managed live entertainment.

The right live entertainment partner becomes an extension of a property’s hospitality team, not an outside vendor.
Executive profile
In 1994, Greg founded Chako Productions Pte. Ltd. in Singapore. In less than two years, he built it into one of the region’s leading entertainment companies, with more than 30 full-time resident artists performing six nights each week under long-term contracts.
Hospitality leaders who experienced his work repeatedly invited him to assume greater responsibilities and develop programs for new properties, because they trusted his judgment, professionalism, relationships, and commitment to their guests.
Greg works as naturally with chief executives, hotel managers, diplomats, and government officials as he does with front-line employees, artists, educators, private clients, and guests.
Property-wide oversight · Singapore
Greg simultaneously booked and managed every live-entertainment engagement across these properties, spanning lounges, restaurants, lobbies, corporate and special events, cultural presentations, and signature entertainment destinations including the Equinox Complex.

Selected residencies & programs
Invited to sit in, Greg instead proposed booking and managing the weekly jazz program, then opened the first business account for Chako Productions. Four nights of live jazz, with press releases, calendars and media coverage.

Invited by F&B Manager Dean Winter to assemble a trio for a fortnight of jazz. Greg recorded his first album, Everything I Love, during the run, and the engagement became a weekly residency.

An initial three-month contract at the Pan Pacific was extended. Chako Productions sponsored U.S. musicians to continue it while Greg established a new trio at the Bar & Billiard Room at Raffles Hotel.

Invited during the hotel’s pre-opening by executives he had worked with at The Westin Singapore. The residency increased revenue, attracted favorable press, and was featured on Chinese television.

A weekly piano-guitar engagement at The Imperial Hotel Tokyo from 2005 through 2008, followed by a ten-month residency at the InterContinental Yokohama Grand that became the foundation for his Collaboration Quartet.

Planned to end in spring, the Saturday engagement was extended after the general manager reported that customer numbers had increased significantly and credited the music. Recordings from the room became the album Come to Sorrento’s.

The pattern
Rather than beginning again with each opportunity, senior hospitality leaders repeatedly expanded his responsibilities, introduced him to new organizations, and entrusted him with increasingly significant leadership roles.
“It is unique the way he so successfully straddles both worlds: creative arts and business.”
Martin B. Jones · then Vice President of Food and Beverage, Asia Pacific, Starwood Hotels & Resorts (2014 letter)
Relationships
His wider portfolio also encompassed government agencies, diplomatic missions, prestigious private clubs, and international cultural organizations. Executive references are available on request.
